QUESTIONS
What is CBD?
CBD is an acronym for Cannabidiol, a phytocannabinoid, meaning plant produced. It is one of over 100 known cannabinoids found in the genus cannabis Sativa L.
How does CBD work in the brain and body?
Cannibinoids reacts synergistically with the endocannabinoid system in all mammals via numerous ‘cannabinoid receptors’ (Known as CB1 & CB2) found in the brain and organs throughout the human body.*
Can CBD make you feel high?
No!
What are some conditions CBD can potentially treat?
CBD has the unique characteristic to activate the endocannabinoid system’s ability to balance the body’s health and well being; this is known as homeostasis.
Does CBD show up on drug tests?
Very possible you could test positive (link for more info). Taking a full spectrum oil has the possibility to trigger a drug test because any level of THC, even the lowest of low values, does accumulate in the body and could trigger the outcome.
Is CBD illegal? (Legal in all states?)
The Farm Bill of 2018 removed CBD from the controlled substance list by the federal government. At this point there are only three known states where CBD is illegal: S. Dakota, Idaho and Mississippi. Please do your own research (Due diligence) at the local and state level regarding legality of CBD. (Check out this interactive map with current status of each state’s information on cannabis use.)
What’s the difference between hemp CBD and cannabis-derived CBD?
They are different strains of the same genus, Sativa L. The Hemp plant does not produce more than .3% THC by dry weight.* .
What’s the right dose of CBD?
The recommended dose is 1-6 mg/10 pounds. The right dose for any individual is subjective and can vary due to sex, age, weight, general health and other factors. When taking a CBD product, like an oil or tincture, it is best to begin with a small dosage for the first several days. Take time to notice any physical or mood changes in your life. If all is good, then increase the dosage. Do these until you find a dose that works or does not work for you. Generally, a dose of 25 mg daily, plus or minus is the suggested dosage based on research to date.
How do I take CBD oil and other products?
The various products suggest the amount to be taken on the label. The Tincture is best taken under the tongue where you allow it to be absorbed by the blood vessels there for immediate and easiest way to get it into the blood stream. Hold it under the tongue for at least 60 seconds, swish around your mouth for a bit and then swallow. The gel caps are to be taken orally as suggested on the label. If you take more than one a day, take at different times of the day to optimize the availability to the body over the whole day. The same goes for the gummies. All topicals should be applied liberally on the body in the area, abrasion or skin condition. The other products contain suggested ways to use on the label. Good luck!
Is CBD safe for pets?
